Elementary Education

As a student in the Elementary Education 和 teaching programs you'll learn how to motivate 和 challenge students 和 prepare them for personal 和 educational success. You will learn how to create lessons 和 projects, 和 you will hone your instruction 技能 in real work experiences. Our courses will help you develop the tools for managing 和 counseling students' behaviors in the classroom. Your senior year student-teaching experience will help you demonstrate leadership in the classroom 和 among fellow educators.

Program Distinctions

• Teaching licensure programs approved by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing 和 St和ards Board (PELSB).

• Teacher c和idates have field experience (before student teaching) in three classes, 总计250小时. 除了, c和idates spend a total of 16 weeks completing full-time student teaching, adding an additional 500 hours of classroom work. The field experience hours that occur before student teaching give c和idates a firm foundation upon which to build a successful student teaching experience.
• Methods courses embed strategies for working with English language learners 和 students with dyslexia. These courses teach differentiation 技能 needed to help prepare c和idates to meet  diverse needs in all of their field experience 和 student teaching placements.
